Office & Transfer Station Closings:

  • Transfer Station will be closed Saturday, February 16 and Monday, February 18.
  • City Hall & Public Works will be closed Monday, February 18.

Garbage Schedule: Week of February 18

  • Monday’s route will be picked up on Tuesday, February 19.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday’s route will be picked up on Wednesday, February 20
  • Regular schedule resumes on Thursday,February 21.

Next Snow Event: Removal Starts in NE

VCPW will have a crew out at midnight (Wednesday) clearing the downtown area’s and the schools, then moving to the emergency routes.  We will not be starting any residential until the snow has stopped.  When we start residential it will be NE first, moving clock wise.  Depending on when the snow has stopped this could carry into Saturday morning before all residential is complete.

January 10: Garbage Announcements

Two Important Garbage Announcements:

1. As of 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 10 – VCPW is operating with only one garbage truck. Routes are running behind and expected to resume regular schedule by Monday, January 14. Please put garbage out on time to help our crews!

2. Christmas trees will be picked up on Thursday, January 10 and Friday, January 11.

ALERT Barnes County, Public Safety Notification System Launches

Barnes County has just launched “ALERT Barnes County”, a mass notification system that notifies registered users of important emergency information pertaining to severe weather, police & fire emergencies, public health crises, etc. You have complete control over alerts and can choose the delivery method of your choice: text, email, or phone call. Barnes County will no longer utilize or carry CodeRED. That means you will NEED to re-sign up through the ALERT Barnes County Everbridge Portal in order to receive notifications!
